It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beverly A. Sourk, who peacefully departed this world on Friday, October 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Cedarhurst Assisted Living Facility. Born on September 18, 1936 in Goff, Kansas. Beverly lived a life rich in love, laughter, and indomitable spirit. Beverly was the cherished daughter of Gerald and Ruby (Porter) Sourk. She spent her early years on the family farm in Goff, Kansas, where she developed a strong work ethic and a love for the outdoors. After graduating from Goff High School in 1954, she embarked on a remarkable journey that would see her touch many lives with her warmth and generosity including playing in a professional basketball league in Topeka. In 1956, Beverly married Jimmie G. Roush, and together they raised a beautiful family. Though they later divorced, their union blessed them with four wonderful children, Janice Chamberlin (Mike) of Paxico, KS, Jean Wyatt (Dean Porter) of Topeka, KS, Scott Roush (Chris) of Topeka, KS and Greg Roush (preceded by). Her family continued to grow with addition of her beloved grandchildren, Kimberly Kummer (Jimmy), Joshua Chamberlin (Shelby), Rebecca Mulanax (Marcus), Grant Roush (Morgan), Jake Hamm, Matt Logan (Abby) and Cole Logan, as well as great-grandchildren, Evan, Ethan, Jacob Kummer, Mason, Kinsley and Tessa Mulanax, Tucker Roush and Clay and Reed Logan. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Sue Heaton (Ken) of Holton, KS, Nancy Gosling of Goff, KS and Linda Burleson (Paul) of Denton, KS; brother, Dr. Charles Sourk (Pam) of Scott City, KS and many nieces and nephews.

Beverly’s career began at the American Bindery, where her dedication and hard work saw her rise through the ranks to Assistant Plant Manager. She took immense pride in her work and the relationships she built with colleges and libraries across the region. Upon retiring, Beverly found joy in working at the 20’s Bar, joining the Dart League and her culinary delights like corned beef and cabbage, chili and cinnamon rolls became legendary. A woman of many talents, she also worked at Western Hills Golf Course and enjoyed the Women’s Golf League. She was an adventurer at heart, teaching water skiing, enjoying camping and boating, and traveling to place like Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas, and Hawaii with her dear friends and siblings. Golfing with friends was a favorite pastime, and she relished every moment spent on the green. Beverly’s love for animals was evident in her affection for her Yorkie, “Chip”, who accompanied her on drives and visits to the Bark Park. Her compassion extended beyond her family and friends, as she was always the first to offer help.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Ruby Sourk; son, Greg Roush; sisters, Beth Clowe and Doris Oxandale, and brother, Jerry Sourk.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and steadfast independence will forever be cherished by all who knew her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Cedarhurst Assisted Living Facility and the Elara Caring Hospice for their compassionate care and kindness during Beverly’s final days. Beverly’s vibrant spirit and loving nature will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her extraordinary life.
