Beverly Jean (Vaskey) Secrest, 74, of Davenport, NE, passed away on June 18, 2014, at her residence in Holton, KS. She was born in Great Falls, MT on June 20 1939, the daughter of Ambrose and Ethel (Harkness) Vaskey.

Beverly moved from California to Davenport in 1972. She married Eugene Secrest on October 20, 1956. She was employed at Wittrock's Café, Base Hit, and also Blue Valley Lutheran Homes in Hebron, where she retired.

She was a member of the Davenport VFW Auxillary, Post # 10579. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, fishing, canning and flowers.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene Secrest; sister, Carol Murphy; Brother, Bill Vaskey; son, Jon Secrest; and daughter Rene' Mares.

Those who will cherish her memory include her son, Rick Secrest, of Downey, CA; daughters, Dusti (Perry) Rooney of Ulm, MT, Teri (Raymond) Boyce of Holton, KS, Sandra Pedersen of Nelson, NE and Tammy Fisher of Clay Center, NE; 23 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, June 23, 2014 at Urbauer-Price Funeral Home Chapel, Davenport, NE. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Urbauer-Price funeral home with family receiving friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date. Condolences may be sent to Urbauer-Price Funeral Home, or left at priceurbauerahrendts.com.
