Beulah L. Snavely, 84, of Whiting, KS died Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at her home. She was born February 25, 1922 on a farm near Whiting, the daughter of Jess and Lucy Riechelson Ohlsen.
Mrs. Snavely graduated from Whiting High School in 1940 and lived all her life in the Whiting community. She was a lifetime member of the Whiting Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She was married to Lee D. Snavely on December 17, 1942 in Holton, KS. Lee passed away on October 20, 1996. Survivors include 4 sons; Roy Lee Snavely of Silver Lake, KS, Richard Allen Snavely and Michael Lee Snavely both of Whiting and Joseph Leonard Snavely of Overbrook, 2 daughters; Patricia Williams of Whiting and Phyllis Snavely of Cody, WY, a brother, Bernard Ohlsen of Whiting, 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Kathleen Wilbur, Irene Higby, and Lorraine Wenger; and a brother, Leonard Ohlsen.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery at Whiting. Family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Whiting Baptist Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
