Havensville-Betty Jeanne Sauvage, 78, of Havensville died Thursday, January 11, 2007 at her home. She was born October 23, 1928 in Havensville, the daughter of Glen Roscoe and Norma C. Shove Gibson.
Betty graduated from Havensville High School in 1946 and attended beauty school in Topeka. She had her own beauty shop in Havensville, she worked at the Slimaker Dress Factory in Holton for many years, and she was a waitress at Keck's in Wamego and a Home Health Aide for Pottawatomie County.
She was a member of the Havensville Historical Society, a past member of Circleville Saddle Club, a former member of the Havensville Methodist Church and had sold Avon for many years.
Betty was married to Carl Eugene "Gene" Sauvage on April 23, 1947 in Holton. He survives. Other survivors include 3 daughters Saundra Simkins of Havensville, Gloria VandeVelde and her husband Ronald of Havensville, Connie Greenmun of Ft. Worth, TX; 9 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2007 at the Christian Church in Havensville. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to the Havensville Historical Society sent c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O.
