On October 20, 2025, heaven gained another angel with the passing of Betty Rudy, 99. She was born on April 20, 1926, in Home, Kansas. Her parents were Clifford Welch and Thelma Marshall. She spent most of her youth in Frankfort Kansas before moving to Colorado where she met Ernest Rudy and began their journey of 66 years together. She worked for Southwestern Bell (AT&T) for 35 years before retiring at age 55. She lived in four states, with Texas as her last place of residence before she passed. In every place she ever lived, she made friends that would last a lifetime. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her four sisters, brother, her husband, Ernest Rudy, and her son, Larry Rudy. She is survived by two sons, Ernie Rudy (Debbie Rudy) of Midlothian, TX, and Garth Rudy of Blackpool, England; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The services will be graveside at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 22, 2026. The burial is at Soldier Cemetery in Soldier, Kansas.
