WHITING, KS – Betty L. Ohlsen, 81, of Whiting, KS passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at her home. She was born February 19, 1930 in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Albert John and Clara Morgan Keeler. She attended schools in Huron and Horton.

Betty was a farmwife. She was also a seamstress and worked at Slimaker Dress Factory in Holton.

Betty was married to Bernard D. Ohlsen on February 2, 1952 in Horton, KS. In addition to her husband, Bernard, Betty is survived by her sons, Dean Ohlsen (Karen) of Netawaka, KS, Eric Ohlsen (Jenny) of Whiting, KS; her daughter, Nancy Blum (Mark) of Whiting, KS; her sister, Margarite Hinkle of Mayetta, KS; her brother, A.J. Keeler, Jr. of Whiting, KS; 4 grandchildren, Heath and Steve Ohlsen and Courtney and Jessica Blum.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Springhill Cemetery north of Whiting. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
