Betty Gene Morrill, 92, of Camdenton, MO, formerly of Valley Falls, KS, passed away on January 8, 2025, in Osage Beach, MO. She was born November 4, 1932, in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of John and Alice (Moyer) Lee.

Betty attended school in Kansas City, KS. She began in her teenage years working for Westheight Coffee Shop. Betty was involved with and owned several restaurants and catering businesses throughout the years. She and her husband, Lowell, bought and renovated one of the first Food Trucks in the early 1990's.

She was a lady of strong faith who worshipped in various ways. Her love was shown to all, especially her family. Betty found extreme joy in following her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Betty married James Bennett VanFleet, Jr on January 23, 1952. They later divorced.

She married Lowell K. Morrill on December 4, 1980, in Miami, OK. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2016, after 35 years of marriage. Betty is also preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Lee; 6 sisters, Lyda Schultz, Verda, Hamilton, Lana Stevens, Becky Wooton, Wanda Morris and Beverly McClellan; 4 brothers, Lyle, John, Robert and Joe Lee; 2 sons, James Bennett VanFleet, III, infant son, Ronnie Dean VanFleet and a grandson, Jacob VanFleet.

Betty is survived by her children, Patricia Evans of Camdenton, MO, Gregory VanFleet of Lenexa, KS, and Karen Dengel (Tim) of Olathe, KS; 7 grandchildren, J.B., Josh, Zachary, Brandi, Natalie, Brian, and Kevin; numerous great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at Valley Falls Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
