TOPEKA- Betty A. Jeffries, 84, of Topeka, KS passed away January 11, 2012 in Topeka. She was born September 7, 1927 in Holton, KS the daughter of Jesse and Florence (Chase) Uber.

Betty graduated from Holton High School. She was a cook for Jefferson West High School, United Methodist Home and Topeka restaurants. She was a member of the Meriden Community Church and Meriden Eastern Star.

Betty married William Jeffries on September 10, 1946 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1993. She was also preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Jeffries; 3 sisters, Juanita Cattrell, Ellen Miller and Velma Brown and 3 brothers, Jesse, Eugene and Earl Uber.

Survivors include 2 sons, Ernest L. Jeffries (Carolyn) of Bonner Springs, KS and Richard Jeffries (Teresa) of Slidel, LA; a daughter, Janet Joyner of Cordova, TN; a daughter in law, Deborah Jeffries of Clifton VA; a brother, Barney Uber of Horton, KS; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 14, 2012 at the Meriden Community Church. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services at the church.
