Obituary

Betty J. Bryant, 96, formerly of Valley Falls, died Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Litchfield Park, AZ.
She was born April 12, 1922, at Oilton, OK, the daughter of Ward and Olaf Triggs Cadwalader. She graduated from high school in Anderson, MO.
Betty was a homemaker. She had worked as a clerk at Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center and a telephone operator at Forbes AFB, both in Topeka. She had also worked at Terry's Thriftway in Valley Falls and at Walmart in Holton.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Grahem-Herbers Post 3084 , VFW, and Rebekah Lodge 652, both in Valley Falls, and had attended Valley Falls United Methodist Church.
She married John W. Bryant March 16, 1941, at Lanagan, MO. He died May 19, 2001. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Ann Bryant, Feb. 27, 1948; a son, Donald David Bryant, June 9, 1988; a brother, Ward Cadwalader, and a sister, Mary Lou Pace.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Lou (Bill) McCall, Litchfield Park, AZ; her son, Gary (Connie) Bryant, Lawrence; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
A Graveside Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
