Obituary

WETMORE- Bernadine Rose Huerter, of Wetmore, KS passed away December 29, 2009 at Medicalodges Jackson County in Holton. She was born March 3, 1916 in Flush, KS the daughter of Patrick Celestine and Julia Nora Savage O'Driscoll.
Bernadine graduated in 1933 from St. Joseph's High School in Olpe, KS. After normal training, she taught elementary school for a year. She was a homemaker and had worked for several years at the Slimaker Dress Factory in Holton. She had lived in the Wetmore community since 1945 and had previously lived in Goff. She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church, St. James Altar Society and a 4-H leader all in Wetmore.
She married Edwin Herbert Huerter on June 13, 1936 in Corning, KS. He passed away on December 7, 1984. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Edwina Ribaudo; a sister, Geraldine Mulroy and a grandson Anthony Edwin Huerter.
Survivors include two daughters, Victoria Tomlinson of Topeka, KS and Mary Constance Banser (Ric) of Hilo, HI; a son, Joseph Patrick Huerter (Susan) of Topeka, KS; a son-in-law, Frank Ribaudo of Oklahoma City, OK; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church in Wetmore. Burial will be in the Wetmore Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday followed by a visitation at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to the St. James Catholic Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O.
