GOFF- Barbara Marie (Birch) Russell, 77, loving wife and mother passed away at her home in Goff, Kansas, with family by her side, on Sunday, May 31, 2020. She was born July 7, 1942 in Eau Claire, WI, the daughter of Robert Steven and Lucile (Daniels) Birch.

Barbara graduated from Eau Claire Senior High in 1954 and attended 2 years at Rice Lake Technical College in Rice Lake, WI.

She married John W. Russell on February 12, 1966 in Eau Claire, WI. Barbara built control panels used in the space shuttle, for Cray Research in Chippewa Falls, WI from 1983-1989.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John William Russell originally from Eau Claire WI; four sons, Josh Russell (Abby) of Bentonville, AR, Brady Russell (Tanya) of Topeka, KS, Zack Russell (Amanda) of Axtell, KS and Sam Russell (Shelley) of Hoyt, KS; 9 grandchildren, Sam, Samantha, Kyle, Tucker, Arianna, Cooper, Ryan, Tegan and Danyelle; and her brother, Lance Birch of Kenosha, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille (Daniels) Birch and Robert Joseph Birch and brothers, Steven Birch and Bradley Birch.

No services will be held and the family asks that you support your local casinos in lieu of flowers. A register book will be available at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton were in charge of arrangements.
