Barbara Jean Martin, 73, of Meriden, KS, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025 at her home with family by her side. She was born November 18, 1951 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Albert and Phyllis Edith (Offergeld) Sieve.
Barbara graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1969. She worked for Hallmark Cards and later at the Department of Revenue for the State of Kansas. In August of 2017 she retired from the Kansas Lottery as the State Retail Coordinator.
She married Glen Dee Martin on May 27, 1972 in Valley Falls, KS. They celebrated over 52 years of marriage.
Survivors include her husband Glen of the home; 3 children, Jeanette Boucher (Dean) of Topeka, KS, Bryan Martin of Meriden, KS and Micheal Martin of Pueblo, CO; 4 sisters, Mary Cozadd (Jack) of Meriden, KS, Geraldine Sieve of Mayetta, KS, Lorraine Herring of Lawrence, KS and Theresa Massey (Doug) of Meriden, KS; 4 brothers, Don Sieve (Sharon) of San Antonio, TX, Pat Sieve (Julie) of Valley Falls, KS, Mark Sieve (Edie) of Topeka, KS and Tim Sieve (Mindy) of Topeka, KS; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Sieve and Phyllis Sieve-Cowan; sister, Ann O'Shea and a brother, Mike Sieve.
Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Meriden, KS. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. with visitation to follow before Mass. Inurnment will be at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Topeka, KS. In lieu flowers, memorials may be given to the St. Aloysius Catholic Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 6, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
