Obituary

Badger Roy Wahwasuck, 71, of Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation, Mayetta, KS, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 at his home. He was born April 27, 1950 in Holton, KS, the son of Trilby Hix and Lucille (Bennick) Wahwasuck.

Badger was a Professional Pow Wow Dancer, traveling to many towns and states. He was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Karen Janet (Leman) Wahwasuck; sisters, Velma Wahwasuck, Shawnie Smith (Chev); eldest son, John Roy Wahwasuck; eldest daughter, Josette Scholfield (Douglas); son/nephew, Greg Wahwasuck; son, Trilby Wahwasuck; daughter, Adriana Tobey (Arlan); son, Louie Cervantes (Arnalda); grandchildren, Keenen and Labradford Wahwasuck, Alicia, Daniel and Dasan Scholfield, Sophia and Adriana Suke, Travis and Victor (Littles) Ortero and Dania and Arianna Wahwasuck.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Trilby and Lucille Wahwasuck; brothers, Clyde Papakee and Luther Wahwasuck and sister, Edna (Crunchie) Johnson.

Wake and Services will be Tuesday evening, May 4, 2021 at the Dance Ground Building on the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
