Obituary

Arlyn Max Thompson, 81, of Holton, KS passed away March 13, 2014 at his home. He was born September 15, 1932 in Soldier, KS the son of Lyle and Jessie (Bottom) Thompson.

Max graduated from Soldier High School in 1950. After graduation, he served in the United States Army from 1952 – 1954 in Germany. He later attended Topeka Trade School. Max retired after 41 years from Goodyear Tire Company.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holton, Wetmore American Legion, Circleville Masonic Lodge and V.F.W. in Holton.

Max married Edrie M. Dachenhausen on November 26, 1955 in Holton. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a son, Jerald Thompson of Kansas City, KS; 2 daughters, Julie Starr (Gary) of Grantville, KS and Lisa Orf (Tony) of Wichita, KS and 4 grandchildren, Michael, Emily and Aaron Starr and Josephine Orf. Max was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Donna Pinick and his infant sister, Norma Jean Thompson.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 17 th , 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Holton. Family will greet friends from 1-3:00 p.m. Sunday at Mercer Funeral Home. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Jackson County Friends of Hospice or First United Methodist Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
