Anna L. Lane, 85, Topeka, formerly of Valley Falls, died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Midland Hospice in Topeka.
She was born on March 5, 1926, at Valley Falls, the daughter of Albert and Mary Boyd Welch. She graduated from Valley Falls High School.
Anna was a clerk at the Kansas Department of Administration for 14 years. She had worked at Slimaker Dress Factory in Holton for 23 years.
She married Clarence Alvin Lane on June 10, 1943, at Oskaloosa. He died on April 10, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Marvin Cropper, and her stepbrother, Glenn Cropper.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Lane and Dennis (Cheryl) Lane, all of Topeka; a stepbrother, Melvin Cropper, Phoenix, AZ; a stepsister, Inez Thorp, Beaumont, TX; a grandson Waylon Lane, Towanda; two step grandsons, Arron Snyder, Washington D.C., and Shane Snyder, Topeka; four great-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, PO Box 6, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
