Anna Marie Braum, 93, Denison, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at the Holton Community Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 10, 1915, at Mayetta, the younger of two daughters, to Jacob and Minnie Mauersberger Pitsche. She graduated from Holton High School in 1933 and later from Stewart's Beauty Academy in Topeka.
She married Wilbur Braum on June 25, 1942, at Denison. They lived on a farm southeast of Denison for 48 and one half years before moving to Denison in 1990. Anna Marie was a member of the Denison Reformed Presbyterian Church and a Life Member of the Women's Missionary Fellowship at the church. She was also a member of the Fairview Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Braum, on Feb. 10, 2006, sister, Irene Strole, on April 7, 1993, son-in-law, Elwin Carter, on Apr. 11, 1974, and granddaughter, Amanda Holman, on Dec. 5, 2008.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Roy (Terry) Braum, D.V.M., Easton; two daughters, Marilyn Carter, and Joanne Braum, both of Topeka; grandson Curtis Braum, Topeka; granddaughter Jenna (Jeff) Gillaspie, Easton, and great-granddaughters, Isabella and Aubrey Gillaspie, and Ariana Holman.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at the Denison Reformed Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at the Denison Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service.
