Amy Lynn Harrington, 50, of Valley Falls, KS, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born July 28, 1973, in Winchester, KS, the daughter of Arthur L. "Bud" and Alice Ann (Grollmes) Frakes.
Amy graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1991. She attended Kaw Area Tech School during high school also earning her certificate in Bookkeeping.
She worked as a underwriter for Crop Insurance for over 20 years. She worked for Great American Insurance Company.
Amy enjoyed sports, especially the Royals, Chiefs, and Jayhawks. Most of all she enjoyed her children, and three grandkids.
She was a past member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Valley Falls.
Amy married Todd Harrington on April 17, 1993 in Valley Falls. To this union they shared three children.
Survivors include a son, Jacob Harrington, of Valley Falls; 2 daughters, Lauren Doty (Zachary) of Meriden, KS, and Megan Armendariz (Ulises) of Topeka, KS; 5 sisters, Gwen Puttoff (Chris) of Meriden, KS, Christine Noe of Topeka, KS, Hope Stover (Chuck) of Topeka, KS, Janet Ricklefs (Al) of Valley Falls, KS, Paula Pickerell (Jason) of Valley Falls, KS, and Jennifer Schwarzenberger (Kevin) of Overland Park, KS; 3 brothers, Michael Frakes of Topeka, KS, Matthew Frakes (Sheila) of Valley Falls, KS, and Arthur Frakes, Jr. of Overland Park, KS; a brother-in-law, Bob Sloop of Valley Falls; and 3 grandchildren, Aralynn, Isabella, and Ellie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur "Bud" and Alice Frakes, and a sister, Pamela Sloop.
Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Memorials may be given to Ascend Hospice c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
