Alvena Mae Widner, 86, of Holton, KS passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Atria Hearthstone East in Topeka, KS. She was born August 12, 1931 in Sedan, KS the daughter of Senator Nathaniel and Dorothy (Cooper) Walker.

Alvena graduated from Laramie High School in Laramie, WY. She was a film clerk for the State Health Department retiring after 27 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Holton, a 10 year member of D.A.R and a member of Mustang Camping Club.

Alvena married Donald R. Widner on June 26, 1949 in Laramie, WY. He preceded her in death March 19, 2011.

Survivors include a daughter, Sue McClintock (Roger) of Holton, KS; a son, Terry L. Widner (Kathy) of Topeka, KS; a sister, Sharon Williams (Larry) of San Jose, CA; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with burial to follow in the Holton Cemetery.
