FLEWELLING

Allen Duane Flewelling, 56, Holton, KS, formerly of Blue Springs, MO, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, at his home.
Duane worked for 32 years for the Social Security Administration at Kansas City, MO. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the First Southern Baptist Church in Oskaloosa, KS.
He was born Sept. 24, 1949, at Nevada, MO, the son of George K. and Lois Broomfield Flewelling. He graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City, KS.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Flewelling, a niece, Kylie Salazar, a great niece, Jordyn Fitzpatrick, and a great nephew, Levi Lendermon.
Survivors include his mother, Lois Flewelling, Holton, four brothers, Ken Flewelling, Holton, Robin Flewelling, Soldier, KS, Dan Flewelling, Topeka, KS, and Dennis Flewelling, Tecumseh, Neb.; seven sisters, Carolyn Flewelling, Kansas City, KS, Kathryn Faulkner, Olathe, Lorraine Flewelling, Saguache, CO, Sherry Potts-Flewelling, Holton, Jill Flewelling, Topeka, and Pamela Flewelling and Sandra Flewelling, both of Holton; 27 nephews and nieces; 28 great nephews and nieces and one great-great nephew.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be at the Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday.
