HEUGEL
TOPEKA - Albert D. Heugel, 71, of Topeka, died Monday, July 10, 2006 at Rolling Hills Health Center in Topeka. He was born September 16, 1934 in Valley Falls, KS to Martin and Nora Simmons Heugel.
He was baptized December 9, 1934 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Valley Falls. He attended Valley Falls Grade School until age 12, at which time he was sent to a training center for epileptics in Parsons, KS. He also lived in Winfield, KS and at New Horizons in Valley Center, KS. Prior to his stay in Topeka, he had also lived in nursing homes in Sabetha and Osage City, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David Heugel and Martin Heugel, Jr.; and sisters, Edith Harden and Ruth Edwards.
Albert is survived by his sisters, Mary Boese of Kansas City, KS, Patty Wilkerson of El Dorado, KS, Norma McMullen of Topeka, KS and Ina Neubauer of Oregon City, OR.
Albert loved to play cards, listen to music and sing songs he had learned as a child. He had a great smile for everyone. He was cremated and will be buried at Larkinburg Cemetery in Larkinburg, KS. A Memorial Service will be held at Rolling Hills Health Center at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2006. Online condolences are available at www.mercerfuneralhomes.com
