Agnes Ellen Small, 87, Topeka, Kansas, formerly of Holton, Kansas, died Sept. 23, 2008. She was born October 26, 1920, in New York City, New York, the daughter of Charles F. and Mary C. Eberle Stone. She graduated from Walton High School in the Bronx in 1938, and following her husband's return from the Second World War she moved to Kingman, Kansas, where she raised her family. Survivors include her children, Donna and Jim Dotts, Brentwood, California; Kim Kickhaefer, Lawrence, Kansas; Jonathan and Georgia Small, Topeka; Timothy Small, Pittsburg, Kansas; Melissa and Robert Lienemann, Manhattan, Kansas; and Christopher Small of Manhattan, Kansas; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Small, her brothers, Charles F. Stone and Harold J. Stone, and a grandson, Jeremy Dotts. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2008, Mercer Funeral Home, Holton, Kansas. Burial will follow in Holton Cemetery. Mrs. Small will lie in state 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, September 25 at the funeral home.
