Addie Irene Johnstone, 86, of Scottsdale, AZ, died Saturday, August 9, 2008 in Tucson, AZ. She was born February 13, 1922 in Wetmore, KS, the daughter of Van L. and Addie L. Hughes McDaniel.
She graduated from Wetmore High School in 1939, and attended Omaha University. She had lived in Omaha, NE, before moving to Scottsdale. She was a member of DAR and the Arizona Kit Car Club. She had worked in real estate.
Addie married LeRoy Carl Johnstone on August 9, 1942. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2008. She was also preceded by brothers, Van McDaniel, Jr., Elmer McDaniel, Delbert McDaniel, and James McDaniel. Addie is survived by sons, Elmer Johnstone and his wife, Cheryl, Stephen Johnstone and his wife, Rose all of Omaha, NE, and Craig Johnstone and his wife, Linda of Tucson, AZ; sister, Barbara Krainbell of Topeka, KS; brother, Roger McDaniel of Xenia, OH; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2008 at St. James Catholic Church in Wetmore, KS. Inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Goff, KS.
