HOLTON- Ada L. Kuglin, 88, of Holton, died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Medicalodges Jackson County. She was born May 19, 1921 near Whiting, KS, the daughter of Henry and Minnie Klahr Bergman, Jr.
She grew up on a farm east of Netawaka. She was the Valedictorian of her class at Netawaka High School in 1937. She also graduated from Strickler's Business College in Topeka. She worked at the Jackson County's Clerks office and the Treasurer's office and later for the Kansas State Bank. Ada was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Holton and served many years as church secretary. She served as Trinity LWML President and Secretary and as Mary Circle's Secretary/Treasurer. She taught Vacation Bible School, Midweek, Adult Bible Class, served on the Evangelism Committee and participated in the Sewing Circle.
Ada married Elmer Paul Kuglin on August 22, 1948 in Netawaka. He survives. She is survived by a son, Ron Kuglin and his wife, Sherry, and grandchildren, Andy, Ben, and Sam Kuglin all of Holton.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
